Attorney General Raúl R. Labrador

Last week, I joined a bipartisan delegation of Attorneys General in Rome to strengthen Idaho’s efforts to combat child exploitation, human trafficking, money laundering, consumer and investment fraud, and digital asset and crypto cybercrime. We met with DEA officials, Catholic of the European Parliament, and international law enforcement officials to exchange strategies and build partnerships that enhance our ability to protect Idaho families. A highlight was a conversation with Stephen Kavanagh, INTERPOL’s Executive Director for Police Services. Stephen has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC). He expressed interest in collaborating with Idaho on emerging threats. We also had the unique opportunity to tour the Vatican with Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, a childhood friend of the late Pope Francis, who discussed the Vatican’s efforts to combat human trafficking and his thoughts on Faith, Freedom, and the Law. This trip reflects Idaho’s long-standing commitment to bipartisan cooperation and international law enforcement partnerships. Idaho has participated in the Attorneys General Alliance (formerly CWAG) for over 30 years. Travel was funded by private contributions to AGA.
