Larry Thompson For Congress
@LarryCongress
I’m Larry Thompson. I’m a centrist, independent-minded Republican, but I’m running to represent everyone in California’s new 32nd Congressional District—not just members of my party. I believe Washington has become too partisan, too expensive and too disconnected from everyday life. Whether you are a Republican, Democrat or independent, you are paying the same grocery bills, housing costs, insurance premiums and taxes. You sit in the same traffic, worry about the same wildfires, want safe neighborhoods and want your children to have good jobs and a better future. I have been endorsed by the California Republican Party, but an endorsement does not mean anyone owns my vote. If Republicans have a good idea, I’ll support it. If Democrats have a good idea, I’ll support it. I will be bipartisan and work regularly with Democrats. And when either party is wrong, I’ll say so. Brad Sherman (D) has served in Congress since 1997. I respect his service. But after nearly 30 years, I believe voters are entitled to ask a simple question: Are we satisfied with the results? I’m offering a different approach—fiscal responsibility, lower costs, public safety, secure borders with due process, protection of Social Security and Medicare, wildfire prevention and rebuilding, affordable housing, support for small businesses, bringing entertainment jobs back to California, and preparing our workforce for the enormous changes coming from artificial intelligence. I also believe America should lead rather than retreat from new technology. That means responsible rules for AI and digital assets while protecting consumers, workers, creators, privacy and intellectual property. I am not asking anyone to change their political party. I am asking you to look at the two candidates, look at our records and ideas, and decide who you believe will best represent CA-32 for the next two years. This election doesn't have to be about left versus right. It can be about the future versus the status quo. People over politics. And there is one other factual theme cutting across party affiliation in California right now: widespread dissatisfaction with government and the country's direction. The Public Policy Institute of California ( PPIC) found 75% of California adults saying the nation is headed in the wrong direction, including 92% of Democrats and 82% of independents, while economic pessimism was also widespread across all parties. That makes the underlying choice between continuity with Sherman and change with Thompson a legitimate factual distinction in a race between a challenger and a congressman who has served since 1997. Sanity isn't more left or more right. It's forward.
