The GENIUS Act just passed the House and it's being sold as pro-crypto, pro-innovation. Don't buy it. Here's what it really does:

Creates a digital dollar system run by private corporations but controlled by Washington. It's not a “government-issued” CBDC (Central Bank worse: a private version built by banks and fintech companies under federal oversight. Think VisaCoin or AmazonDollars, but with the government watching every move.

Criminalizes the wrong kind of innovation. If you're building privacy-focused digital money or running a stablecoin outside D.C.'s new rules, you could face fines or jail time. The bill targets issuers making money more free and decentralized.

Lays the groundwork for programmable control. With these new digital dollars, future issuers could likely: - Block certain purchases - Auto-tax transactions - Freeze your funds - Track everything you spend in real-time That's not freedom. That's a surveillance tool.

Worst of all: it punishes everyday Americans. This bill doesn't stop fraud. It stops you from using digital tools that protect your privacy, savings, and right to transact freely. The GENIUS Act isn't genius. It's a blueprint for financial control. We need real innovation—not federal permission slips disguised as freedom.
