Discouraged that President Biden issued a Statement of Administration Policy saying he would veto H.J. Res 109, the Joint Resolution to nullify the SEC's Staff Accounting Bulletin (SAB) 121. SAB 121 effectively prohibits trusted custodians from being able to manage digital assets. This Statement undermines consumer protection and sets a dangerous precedent of providing unchecked power to independent regulators. The SEC intentionally evaded the Administrative Procedures Act to issue this Rule to avoid public comment and transparency. Likely a tool to deter Democrat support, but I'm still optimistic we see a bipartisan vote on the floor this afternoon (4:30).
