CONSUMER ALERT: There has been an uptick of fraudulent calls to Arkansas by people pretending to be law enforcement. The scammer says you’ve committed a criminal offense and pressure you to pay them to avoid arrest. Or if you’ve been recently arrested, they may pressure you to enroll in a fake rehabilitation program. First, law enforcement agencies do not call asking people to send money for fees or fines using a wire transfer, a prepaid debit card or gift card. Also, Bitcoin is never a legitimate form of payment. For more tips to protect yourself, click here: tinyurl.com/ysmnbur9. #arnews @ARStatePolice
