The 2021 carbon emissions from Bitcoin and Ethereum crypto mining were estimated to be 78.8 million tons of CO2 — roughly equivalent to the tailpipe pollution from more than 15.5 million gasoline powered cars. In #SubOversight, @janschakowsky probed further into this issue.
